About Chris
Chris founded Chris Griffin Coaching in 2011. After nearly 25 years in the corporate world, mainly in senior management or executive positions, the Great Recession forced the parent company Chris worked for to re-imagine its business model and close all the divisions Chris had managed. Like so many who have been recently impacted by the economic meltdown caused by Covid-19, Chris was suddenly left facing an uncertain economic future and some very difficult choices. He could attempt to find new employment in the field of international logistics that had been his home for his entire career, or he could strike out on a new path. He chose a new path.
Throughout his corporate career, Chris always felt there must be a better way to work. A way that was productive and profitable for the individual as well as the company, yet left the individual a sense of fulfillment rather than exhaustion at the end of the day. He wanted to find a way to help others like himself improve their professional performance as well as increase their overall well-being. That was the genesis of Chris Griffin Coaching.
Using his corporate experience as a basis for coaching key and senior personnel, Chris expanded his knowledge and expertise by pursuing a master of arts degree in industrial and organizational psychology–the division of psychology that examines the relationships and behaviors between workers, teams, and the organizations they work for. He also studied positive psychology, the science which aims to promote positive factors that allow individuals and communities to thrive rather rather than merely correcting deficiencies. In addition to obtaining a master’s degree with a concentration in coaching and consulting Touro University Worldwide, Chris also gained certifications as a Wellness Coach (CWC), and as a Workplace Wellness Specialist (CWWS) from the National Wellness Institute. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (SIOP).
Chris currently lives in sunny Palm Springs with his husband, two dogs, and two cats.

The Chris Griffin Coaching Story
Chris Griffin Coaching was founded in 2011 to help business owners and key personnel become more productive and efficient, both for their organizations and themselves. It is not just another executive coaching and consulting practice, however. While we understand that most of our clients hire us to solve specific business challenges, we also know that business growth and increased profitability are not the only benefits of executive coaching.
For those of us at Chris Griffin Coaching, professional and personal development go hand in hand. We take a holistic approach with all of our coaching clients. Becoming better business owners and leaders is about more than applying business acumen. It is also about raising self-awareness and sometimes requires a change in deeply rooted beliefs if these transitions are to be successful. During our coaching programs, we encourage our clients to take a comprehensive look at where they are and where they want to go. The result is not just a healthier business but also better quality of life.
Because our professional lives blend with our personal lives, how we change one will by default affect the other. The core mission for Chris Griffin Coaching is to help those who want to improve their professional performance as well as their personal well-being. While our programs are tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients, our core foundational principles enhance the ultimate outcome of our services. Mindfulness techniques increase levels of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Resilience training helps identify positive and negative coping strategies. Principles of positive psychology help to thrive in even the most challenging of times. And while client and coach work together to achieve desired goals and outcomes, we believe enhanced well-being is an overarching benefit of all of our signature services.
At Chris Griffin Coaching, we understand successful leaders need to be open. Transparent with themselves and those around them. They must be willing to adapt to changing circumstances rather than grasping on to the status quo. They must be open to new opportunities, especially when those opportunities are presented as challenges. They must be able to deconstruct problems to their most basic level. They must inspire others with a clearly articulated vision for the future, and they must build strong relationships to help achieve that vision. Our unique coaching blend of mindfulness-based behavioral conditioning and high level executive performance strategies help leaders develop the mindset and skills necessary to become that person.
